Tips for Infused Waters
When using pomegranate seeds, use the side of a knife to gently crush the seeds and break their skins. Use the knife to scoop up the seeds and put them immediately into the water recipe before too much juice seeps out.
Before infusing, always remove the paper tags of tea bags to avoid unnecessary paper flavor in your water.
Cutting the rind off of lemons dramatically reduces bitterness in infused waters. Guide your knife along the lemon’s shape. If you cut off too much, simple squeeze the juice into your container.

I like spring water (the one from Maine!). I would assume that is ok to use instead of filtered or purified? Also, do you have a specific recipe to help with inflammation in the body? Thanks. Great website!

Is it safe to freeze fruit infused water? I have 6 jars I want to make at once because I dont want my ingredients to go bad before I can use them… im sorry, I dont have very much money but trying to stay healthy! Or do you have tips on how to make ingredients last at least 1-2 weeks. Thank you!

Hi, Ashley. You can definitely freeze your infused waters. I don’t do it very frequently myself, so if you start freezing your waters and have any tips, please let us know! I understand about the ingredients – I’ve let a bag of basil go bad before because I just could not use it all in time. In fact, I’m going to do a post today about infused water ice cubes. More soon!

I have one of those 27 oz infuser water bottles and I’m wondering once I put the frunit in and add the water am I actually drinking 27 oz of water or is it less due to the fruit holder being in there?

You state that Mason Jars or water bottles made for infusing are recommended. Is it okay to use a Nalgene bottle or a Tervis for infusing/drinking?

this is by far the best site on infused waters. thank you for taking the time to do this for us.
1. what do you use to strain the water. 2. I don’t understand under the frequently asked section when it talks about how long you can keep your water: it says you can leave in over night but then also says if you have fruit you need to take out sooner than that.
